TIPS TO HELP YOU CLEAN YOUR MIRROR
TIPS TO HELP YOU CLEAN YOUR MIRROR
Ever notice that you are never able to get a spotless mirror? That perfect reflection you try to achieve is always missing, however hard you try to clean it! It’s not a difficult guess, but mirrors give lots of trouble when trying to clean them.
Here are a few tips which will make your handling of mirrors much easier:
Tip #1 Spruce-up your Mirror
If you are regularly cleaning your mirror, using warm water along with a cotton or microfiber cloth is a good recipe for success.
The steps are simple: Dip the cotton cloth in warm water and wring it out to remove excess liquid. Gently start applying the cloth in a circular motion, only in one direction. Wipe the mirror clean and then use another dry cloth to shine the mirror surface.
Alternatively, you can buy a window squeegee to clean the mirrors. But don’t forget to polish it with clean cotton cloth at the end.
Tip #2 Remove the Grunge
When the mirror becomes dirty and warm water is no good, then a washing liquid or a mixture of vinegar and water, present a good option. Alternatively, use half a cup of vinegar with half a teaspoon of washing liquid, in one liter of water. Now, dip the sponge into the solution, squeeze it to remove the water and apply it on the mirror. Wipe the mirror in unidirectional strokes. Then use a dry microfiber cloth to clean the surface.
Tip #3 Don’t let the Steam Settle In
You may notice that after taking a hot shower, there is always a thick steam that collects on the mirror. Is there a way to avoid the mirrorbecoming like this? Can we stop the steam from depositing on the mirror? The answer is yes, and there are two ways to do it. The first and a rather unconventional trick is to mildly spray the window with shaving foam. Use a light coating of the foam all over the mirror. After one and half minutes, use a dry cotton cloth to wipe the mirror clean. Repeat the wipe with another dry cloth. Now your mirror is clean and steam resistant for a day! The other option is more common, simply open the windows and switch on the exhaust fan.
Cleaning mirrors have always been a laborious task which we struggle with to get the best results. Using a mirror squeegee along with dry microfiber cloth helps provide the best results. One bit of caution here, do not use a high fiber or woolen cloth as it will leave behind its fibers on the mirror.
